Under the hood
How sheets are built
Last updated July 21, 2026
Printable practice sheets — not a graded assignment from your school. Check that the skill matches what you taught.
A short account of how SheetPressBase turns dials and pasted text into a printable page. Generation runs in a Web Worker when the browser allows it, so the UI stays responsive while a new set is built.
Math drills
Problems are drawn randomly inside the ranges you set (factor size, table lock, operation mix, problem count). Fact-style division aims for clean quotients. Multi-digit and long-division pages keep counts modest so students have room to show work.
- Re-roll keeps the same rules and swaps the numbers
- Answer keys are optional second pages for your clipboard — leave them off student stacks
- Layout (vertical / columns) is a print preference, not a different skill
Start: multiplication worksheets · mixed ops · long division
Spelling and word work
You paste the list. Activities rearrange letters (scramble), hide letters, offer write-lines, blank test rows, number↔letter matching, or cloze blanks from sentences. We do not invent a secret grade-level word pack or auto-write definitions unless a page says otherwise.
- Typos in the paste print forever — skim the preview
- Proper nouns and apostrophes must match your official list
- One clear activity usually beats stacking every mode on one page

Handwriting and tracing
Name, letter, number, and alphabet pages repeat the text you enter with a model row and copy rows. Print-style and cursive pages use connected or manuscript styling on the model line. We provide practice paper — not a licensed curriculum with animated stroke-order arrows.
- School programs (stroke order, paper lines) may differ; match those rules yourself when required
- Long names or dense A–Z strings may need smaller type or fewer repetitions
- Special characters: check the preview before a class set

Print and paper
Default layout targets US Letter with margins suited to classroom copies. Use the browser Print dialog or Save as PDF. Print at 100% scale — browser shrink often crowds lines. A4 toggles may appear on some pages as we add them; until then, your printer's paper size setting still matters.
What this methodology is not
- Not a lesson plan or standards checklist
- Not LMS auto-grading or roster sync
- Not a guarantee every printer driver will look identical to the on-screen preview
